Experience and Education

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years related experience.

  • Highly preferred qualifications:
    • Excel skills
    • Basic Access skills
    • PeopleSoft Financial skills
    • Claims and commercial payers experience
    • Healthcare experience (professional or hospital)

Job Duties

The position is an accounting position, working with balancing non-lockbox items and assignment of their funds for posting into EPIC. This position must have basic accounting and Excel spreadsheet skills. Access database skills are definitely preferred. Secondly, this position also works with insurance research to resolve outstanding items already posted in EPIC pending accounts. He/she should learn to retrieve EOB documents for EDI provider adjustments, and he/she will be needed to download R&S reports from THMP website on weekly basis for EOB document retention. This EOB document retention program is saved on a public drive and is accessible to all claim follow-up teams and others looking for EOB documentation or using EOB documentation for payments and denials.

  • Provides working supervision to Accounting Clerks.
  • Prepares monthly and annual reconciliation of ledger accounts and other accounts as assigned to department.
  • Prepares, produces, balances, and posts financial department data.
  • Posts completed account information to verify accounts are balanced.
  • Resolves discrepancies with departments, both written and verbal, regarding discrepancies in departmental data.
  • Establishes new accounts for income received from private grants.
  • May monitor grant budgets for allowable expenditures and resolve all discrepancies.
  • May produce financial reports for management regarding standing on individual accounts in addition to overall departmental financial status.
  • Performs duties of supervisor in their absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
