Experience and Education


Bachelor’s degree required, with classes in accounting, management, contracts, and health care preferred. Five (5) years progressively responsible, related experience required. Advanced degree or certification in a business, law, or health care preferred.

Job Duties


  1. Assists director on various reports and projects.
  2. Relieves director of a wide variety of tasks, which require thorough understanding of the functions, programs, operations, and policies of UT Southwestern and the affiliated institutions with which UT Southwestern collaborates to provide pediatric services.
  3. Regularly drafts, edits, and reviews documents, presentations, and spreadsheets for consistency, accuracy, and applicability.
  4. Manages a portfolio of projects and completes/coordinates complex reports that directly support and involve the pediatric faculty practice at UT Southwestern and broader pediatric-related initiatives.
  5. Completes and coordinates complex projects and reports, which may require significant contact with other departments and outside organizations.
  6. Develops relationships and communicates with department leadership, other UT Southwestern employees, and thid party employees to understand and evaluate concerns with clinical operations and relationships with external third parties.
  7. Assists in the planning, negotiating, and problem-solving involved in entering agreements with external third parties.
  8. Conducts data gathering, assimilation, and analysis.
  9. Performs financial analysis and utilizes problem-solving methodologies to improve operations and coordination of services.
  10. Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.
  11. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  12. Maintains confidentiality as appropriate.
  13. May supervise subordinate managers.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Work may require ability to monitor and maintain a budget.

Working Conditions


Work is performed primarily in general office environment.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
