The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management, Dallas, Texas, is seeking a pain medicine physician to join our faculty in the multidisciplinary Spine Center. We have busy inpatient and outpatient practices at UT Southwestern as well as at our teaching county hospital, Parkland Health and Hospital System. Practice opportunities abound in integrated clinics with fellow faculty members in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology and Psychology. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Qualifications: Candidates must be BE/BC in Anesthesiology and must have completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship, developing necessary interventional skills and the ability to manage non-surgical care as well as pre and post-surgical treatment. A Texas medical license is required. Highly qualified candidates will have trained in fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures, including epidural, facet, and sacroiliac joint injections. Experience with consultation, evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with acute and chronic spinal conditions preferred.
A mix of procedures will include, but not be limited to:
Epidural Steroid Injections (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
Facet Injections (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
Medial Branch Blocks (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
Radiofrequency Ablations (Thoracic, Lumbar)
Trigger Point Injections
Sacroiliac Joint Injections
Occipital Nerve Blocks
Duties include: Provide direct patient care activities at UTSW facilities and Parkland Health outpatient clinics; participate in medical student, resident and fellowship teaching and research activities as well as lay education.
