Experience and Education


Bachelor degree in related field in behavioral, social science or clinical applied research and one (1) year experience directly related to type of database building, maintenance including experience working with and maintaining large complex database.
Data analysis experience, preferably in behavioral, social science or clinical applied research.

Job Duties


  • Extract and transform raw data from multiple projects into usable forms that can be subsequently loaded in the database.
  • Assist in the writing of basic code for database access, modification and construction.
  • Prepare statistical reports.
  • Provide data analysis and management support to Population Science Project Coordinators and Data Analyst.
  • Prepare and maintain form and procedure manuals to effect implementation and continuing operation of computer application systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities: Participate in projects involving building state-of-the-art clinical databases for research communities. Acquire, analyze, and organize EHR data from various sources. Contribute to project-specific design of clinical data models. Communicate with collaborating database teams and coordinate data collection/transfer. Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) investigating clinical data models in various EHR databases; (b) facilitating communication and attending meetings with collaborators; (c) regularly documenting and sharing knowledge about EHR systems and data models with team members.

Position Qualifications:Bachelors degree in biomedical science/engineering, applied clinical sciences, computer science/engineering or a related field. Experience in working with EHR system(s) and/or clinical research projects. Experience directly related to database building and maintenance, including experience working with and maintaining large complex databases. Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills. Excellent time management skills, demonstrated by a proven track record of meeting timelines.

Preferred: Epic Clarity experience and/or certification(s) in clinical data model(s). Experience in working with Epic Clarity data and experience with most clinical data models, including flowsheets documentation, orders, medication administration, and smart data elements. Epic Hyperspace experience for validation. Knowledge and experience with Oracle SQL, including creating queries, extracts, optimization and performance tuning, creating tables/views and working with large sets of data. Knowledge of HIPAA and data security policies and experience working with patient data and sensitive data. Experience with SQL Developer, SQL Plus, Microsoft Suite.
