Job Summary

The Manager of Health System Business Operations - Medical Group Finance will report to the Director of Medical Group Financial Affairs. The role is to guide financial and business operations within the Health System Affairs 24 Departments.. The role is a relational position that demands the ability to adapt and manage expectations in a rapidly changing environment.. The Position will actively guide improvement objectives for Health System Affairs. They will oversee the Health System Shared Services team and the Health System Operations administrative teams.

Experience and Education

Bachelor degree in related field and five (5) years progressively responsible, related experience, including three (3) years experience in supervisory capacity are required.

Job Duties

  • Directs a team to provide operational support and oversee finance and accounting activities for 24 Health System Affairs Departments, 74 cost centers, $180M, and 2,000 positions.
  • Generates the UT Southwestern annual budget and monthly invoices for Population Health Services Company, Physician Network, and Payer Relations, per the purchase service agreements with Southwestern Health Resources.
  • Emphasizes opportunities to control and reduce costs and operate more efficiently.
  • Oversee administrative processes such as asset management, records retention attestation, business continuity planning, employee appraisals and merits, and contracts management protocol.
  • Acts as a conduit between host departments and Health System Administration for 20 administrative professionals.
  • Facilitates discussion as needed with certain departments and Payroll/HR when needs arise.
  • At the direction of Health System Administration, ensures proper sourcing of individuals related to two federal programs Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP) and Network Access Improvement Program (NAIP).

  • Work requires ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and accurately in writing and verbally with various levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Work requires to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Work requires to ability to work with confidential information on daily basis.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in office area.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
